Shoot Faqs
HOW DO I BOOK A SHOOT?
Get in touch via email or the “Get in Touch” button. We’ll have a chat about the type of shoot you’re interested in and arrange a date that suits you. If you’d prefer to talk first, I’m happy to arrange a call. Once we’ve agreed on a date, I’ll send you a booking email with a contract. Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, your session is officially booked. Dates and prices can’t be held without a deposit.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A LOCATION SHOOT?
We’ll meet at the chosen location (or walk there together) and explore as we go. I’ll gently guide you with prompts so you’re never unsure what to do, but the real magic happens in the in-between moments. My style is relaxed and lightly directed, giving you space to connect and just be yourselves.
HOW DO I PREPARE MY HOME FOR AN AT-HOME SHOOT?
We’ll use the rooms with the most natural light, so please declutter those spaces — especially around windows or beds. Just like location shoots, at-home sessions are all about natural, honest moments. I’ll gently guide you, but the focus is on capturing your genuine connection in your own space.
WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?
I’m based in Essex, but happy to travel across Essex, Kent, London, Suffolk, and Norfolk. Travel fees apply outside a 25-mile radius. If I’m working elsewhere in the UK or abroad, I’ll share this on Instagram for potential clients.
WHAT SHALL WE WEAR?
I suggest all wearing neutral colour clothing. For example, Dads can look more comfortable in a t-shirt or jumper, and mums in look lovely in a long dress, but whatever you feel most comfortable in. Often fancy newborn clothes don’t fit baby’s properly at this age and it is best to keep baby’s wardrobe simple with baby grows or sleep suits with no patterns on them to keep them timeless, also some nappy only shots wrapped in a blanket can be lovely. I do have a small client wardrobe of dresses for people who would like to wear one.
Personal Faqs
WHAT IF MY KIDS PLAY UP
Let’s be real do kids ever actually play ball? They’re going to be themselves, and that’s what I love most. I’ve worked with little ones for years, and have 3 of my own so I’ve seen it all, the big energy, the meltdowns, the quiet moments too. I build in plenty of time for cuddles, snacks, and all the unpredictability that comes with small humans. We’ll roll with whatever the day brings, and I promise, we’ll still capture something beautiful.
SHOULD WE BRING ANYTHING?
You’re welcome to bring along anything that feels like you, a cosy blanket, a picnic, a change of clothes, or anything special you’d love to include. If you’ve got a particular idea or vision, feel free to let me know ahead of time. For babies and kids, think about neutral-toned toys you wouldn’t mind seeing in your images. Teethers, snacks are all good. If you’d like a little bribery tool (no shame!), mini marshmallows are a great go-to quick to eat, not messy, and easy on the eye in photos.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Ah, the great British weather, always keeping us on our toes. If you’re happy to embrace the elements, I’m totally up for it too. Some of my favourite shoots have happened under stormy skies or light drizzle. But if you’ve got little ones or just don’t fancy getting soaked, we’ll simply reschedule for the next available date. If it’s really tipping it down or stormy, I’ll be in touch ahead of time so we can make a call together.
WE ARE NOT PHOTOGENIC AND AWKWARD
You wouldn’t believe how often I hear this — honestly, most of my couples or families say the same thing. It’s totally normal to feel a little nervous or unsure at first. I’ll always do my best to help you feel relaxed and at ease, and I promise you’ll never be left wondering what to do. I’ll guide you gently throughout, and most of the time, you’ll be too focused on each other to even think about the camera. By the end, I usually get a message saying how much fun it was and that’s exactly the vibe I’m going for.
THE SHOOT IS OVER, WHAT NOW?
Your images will be ready 4–6 weeks after your shoot.
CAN I DOWNLOAD MY IMAGES?
Yes, absolutely. You’ll have unlimited downloads from your gallery and can share it with family and friends too. The gallery will stay live for 30 day, so just make sure to save your images somewhere safe. You’re welcome to print them yourself (just make sure to use a good quality lab).
CAN I POST THE IMAGES ONLINE?
Of course! These are your memories, please share them if you’d like to. In your contract, there’s an option to let me know whether you’re happy for me to share your images on my website or social media too. Either way, they’re yours to enjoy and post. And if you feel like tagging me, I’d love to see how you share your story.
